The United States Judo team was represented at the 2008 Summer Olympics by 10 athletes. Trials were held in Las Vegas on June 13 and June 14 to decide which athletes would qualify for the U.S. team. Seven men and three women in 10 different weight classes competed for the U.S. in Beijing. Judo competitions were held from August 9 to August 15.
The U.S. team won a single bronze medal in judo. Ronda Rousey won bronze in the women's middleweight (63-70 kg/139-154 lbs) class. Japan, Cuba and the Netherlands topped the judo medal charts, winning seven, six and five medals respectively.NBC Olympics: Judo - 2008 Medals Standings By Nation
