    The Ural Mountains a rugged range that extend from the northern border of Kazakhstan to the Arctic Ocean with a range of 2,500km. Notorious for dense forests and rich soils, quite a few minerals can be found here including gemstones such as topaz and beryl. The Ural region also is rich in chromium, copper, zinc, platinum, silver and gold.
