UPro

UPro is a GPS device for golfers that shows aerial photos of the course, as well as video flyovers. It is one of a number of golfing GPS systems on the market, including SkyCaddie and GolfLogix.

Golfing GPS systems have been approved for use in competition by the United States Golf Association and its UK counterpart, the R&A; (Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews). However, their acceptability at individual golf clubs is determined by each club itself.

UPro helps to determine the distance to holes and identify golf course hazards. Though it has been suggested that the use of GPS devices in golf is tantamount to cheating, they have also been touted for their time-saving value, replacing traditional distance markers.
