• Juno director Jason Reitman has signed on to direct Up in the Air, a film adaptation of the novel by the same name (originally authored by Walter Kirn). The book was one of Amazon's "Best of 2001". Reitman's father Ivan Reitman purchased the rights to the script in 2003.

  As a "career transition counselor", Ryan Bingham is a frequent air traveler as he is hired by companies to fire specific employees. His two goals in life are to acquire the magical number of one million frequent flyer miles and to land a job at a management company called MythTech. He begins his final journey towards his goals by visiting eight cities in six days.
