An audience favorite at the 2008 Westminster Dog Show, Uno The Beagle won "Best in Show," as well as first-place in the Hound Group. No beagle had ever won Westminster's coveted Best in Show award before, and none had won Best in the Hound group since 1939.

Perfect Beagle
According to a Westminster official, the applause for Uno was among the loudest a dog has ever received in the competition. However, the judge for the Best in Show award, J. Donald Jones, told The New York Times that his decision was not based on Uno's popularity with the audience. At a news conference on the night of the competition, Jones had this to say about Uno: “He’s the most perfect beagle I’ve ever seen. If you saw him, you saw that perfectly smooth locomotion. Not one muscle went the wrong way. Look at his face, you melt right down."The New York Times: "Beagle, a Breed Long Unsung, Wins Best in Show" (February 13, 2008)
