Campus and Surrounding Area
The University of Florida's main campus is located along the Escambia River on 1,600-acre area with hills and forest. It is 10 miles north of Pensacola's downtown.There are also campuses at Fort Walton Beach, Eglin Air Force Base and Hurlburt Field. There is a university owned beach property on the Santa Rosa Island used for recreation, academics and research. The university also owns 22 historic areas in downtown Pensacola.
