History
The University of Vermont was founded in 1791. It was the first college in the United States to declare in its charter that the, "rules, regulations, and by-laws shall not tend to give preference to any religious sect or denomination whatsoever." UVM.edu:History and TraditionsThe institution consists of seven undergraduate schools, as well as ninety four bachelor's programs. It also has fifty two masters and twenty one doctoral programs.
