University History
The school was first founded in 1965 as part of Indiana State University. It moved to its present location in Evansville, Indiana, in 1971. In 1985, the then-governor of Indiana, Robert Orr, signed into legislation an act to make the University of Southern Indiana independent from Indiana State University. -
