  • The University of Mississippi, or Ole Miss as it is commonly called, is a public, four-year university offering both undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
  • University History

    The school was originally founded in 1848 with 80 students. The school was forced to close during the 1860s, when the students and staff fought in the U.S. Civil War. The university hospital, however, stayed open and treated soldiers during the battles. The school later reopened and now has nine academic divisions on its main campus.
