University History
The university was originally founded in 1931 as Ouachita Parish Junior College. It began the Civilian Pilot Training Program in 1939, which trained pilots for World War II. Most recently, in 1999, the school's name was changed to the University of Louisiana at Monroe.Notable Alumni
