The University of Houston is the flagship school of the University of Houston system. It awards undergraduate and graduate degrees.
University History
The school was originally founded in 1927 as a junior college, offering only night classes. This format continued until 1934, when the institution was granted university status. They moved to a new location the following year and the campus has continued to grow in the years since. Originally offering only teaching degrees, the current college offers over 100 undergraduate and 200 graduate degree programs on a 550 acre campus.
