The University of Hartford is an institution of higher learning, granting undergraduate and graduate degrees. Its athletic teams are members of the America East Conference.
University History
The school can be traced back the Hartford Art School, which was founded in 1877. The Hartford Art School joined with Hillyer College and The Hartt School of Music, Dance and Theatre in 1957 to form the University of Hartford. The school has carried several traditions throughout the years, most notably the Spring Fling, where local bands perform before finals.
