University of Chicago

The University of Chicago is a private research university located in Chicago, Illinois. The school offers 49 major and 22 minor undergraduate degrees on its 211-acre campus.Official Site: About the University

The school was originally founded in 1890 by the American Baptist Education Society and oil tycoon John D. Rockefeller. The school's first athletic teams were founded in 1895, as one of the original members of the Big Ten Conference. In 1942, scientists on the campus made the first-ever nuclear reaction.
