University History
The school was originally founded in 1963 as Florida Technological University. Classes were first held in 1968. The school's name was later, in 1978, changed to the University of Central Florida. The university has expanded in the years since, adding science and medical schools in 2006 and its nursing school in 2007.Notable Alumni
