The United Center is an indoor sports arena located in Chicago, Illinois. The arena is home to the NBA's Chicago Bulls and the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks. In addition to sporting events, the arena is used for concerts, conventions and other special events.
Arena History
Blackhawks owner Bill Wirtz joined with Bulls owner Jerry Reinsdorf in 1988 to begin planning a replacement for Chicago Stadium. Construction of the United Center began in April 1992, and was completed two years later. The new arena officially opened on August 18, 1994.
