Under The Tuscan Sun is a romantic film set in Italy and is loosely based on the memoir of the same name by author Frances Mayes.
In the film, Frances (Diane Lane) is a San Francisco writer whose ideal life goes off-course when she discovers her husband is cheating on her. After her divorce, her best friend Patti (Sandra Oh) persuades her to take a trip to Tuscany, Italy where on a whim, Frances decides to buy a villa and start a new life.
