About Multiplayer
Multiplayer is a completely new gameplay element to the Uncharted series of games. There are two modes: competitive and co-op. Just like in the single-player game, there are things to climb on or under, various environmental hazards to look out for, and secret areas to find. BDeveloper Naughty Dog has worked hard to keep things fair, balanced and competitive. For every perk, gun and beneficial vantage point, there is a counter for quick-thinking opponents to use.In the cooperative mode, all of the environments from the single-player campaign have been revised to accomodate multiple players. Levels that once could be beaten with one player will now require team work to beat. For example, there are areas where one player needs to be boosted up and he has to find a way to open the path for his friends. Some enemies are specifically designed for a co-op experience. There is one bad guy, for instance, who grapples a player from behind and hold him down, and the poor guy's friends have to rescue him before it's too late.
The cash system allows players to purchase various upgrades, such as boosters to increase accuracy or increase damage on breakable objects.PlayStation.Blog: Uncharted 2: More Multiplayer Details (April 28, 2009)
