UN Secretariat

The UN Secretariat is a major division of the United Nations. The Secretariat is an international staff which support both the research and administration needs of the UN's many divisions. Although it is headed by the Secretary-General, the UN Secretariat also acts at the discretion of the main bodies of the UN, including the UN Security Council and UN General Assembly, among others.
