"Umbrella" was originally written for Britney Spears to release on her Blackout. Spears label rejected the song and it was then offered to Mary J. Blige. Blige was unable to work on the track and it was then passed onto Rihanna.
Awards
"Umbrella" won a Grammy Award for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration. According to the United World Chart, Umbrella was the most successful song of 2007.
