  • UGK was a Rap duo from Port Arthur, Texas consisting of rappers Bun B and Pimp C.
  • Career

    Members Pimp C and Bun B were well-known solo artists before forming the group in 1988. In 1992, the group singed to Jive Records. Shortly after, Pimp C was charged with aggravated assault and sent to prison. During this time, Bun B continued to record using the UKG moniker. Pimp C was released from prison on December 30, 2005.

    UGK released their seventh studio album, UGK (Underground Kingz) in August of 2007. Four months later, Pimp C was found dead in his California hotel room. His death was caused by an accidental overdose of codeine and a pre-existing condition called sleep apnea.
