The Career Mode in UFC 2009 Undisputed gives players a chance to create their own UFC fighter.

In UFC 2009 Undisputed, players can customize their fighter's appearance, and select his weight class, fighting and grappling techniques, sponsors, and head coach. Then players can allocate points to three primary attributes—strength, speed, cardio—and 16 different skills to create a fighter with a specific combat style. There's a wide variety of skills to choose from, including standing strikes offense, standing kicks offense and ground striking offense. Players will earn additional points throughout the career mode to further build upon their fighter's strengths or improve his weaknesses.

Players will manage a weekly calender for his fighting, which keeps track of upcoming events. This ensures that the fighter will have enough time to train and rest before fights. Training affects stamina and, if the fighter doesn't have enough time to rest, he'll enter matches with low stamina. While training, players can spar in order to earn more points to feed into their fighter's attributes.

Victories increase the fighter's overall standing, or cred. He'll progress from basic matches to prime time Pay-Per-View events. Earning cred will unlock gym upgrades, earn invites to train with UFC elite fighters, and new sponsors will become available.

Once a fighter's days in the ring are over, he can be retired from career mode. This does not mark the end of the line, however. Retired fighters can participate in both online and offline matches with other created fighters.IGN: UFC 2009 Undisputed - Create Career Video (Time: 3:24)
