The UEFA Champions League is a European soccer competiton organized by UEFA. The 76 teams that ended highest in their respective European competitions participate. Background
After three qualifying rounds and a play-off round, 32 teams are entered in the qualifying rounds. These teams are grouped in eight groups, which play a full competition of six matches. The top two teams in each group progress to the Knockout round, numbers three continue in the UEFA Europa League. Matchday 3 was played on October 20 -21, 2009.
