  • UB40 is Britain's most famous and successful Reggae band, as well as one of the top reggae acts of all time, with over 55 million records sold. Formed in 1978, the band was first noticed by Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders (who booked them as their opening act). While the band received considerable attention in the UK, it wasn't until their 1983 album Labour of Love that the band caught the ear of American critics and fans. A cover of the Neil Diamond classic "Red Red Wine" became a hit and went to # 1 on both the UK and US charts. The band's other big hit (also a cover), was Elvis Presley's "(I Can't Help) Falling In Love With You", which was featured in the Sharon Stone movie Sliver.
