The United States Marine Corps is one of the five United States armed forces divisions and one of the seven uniformed services. It is an amphibious military unit that operates both on land and water.
In late April of 2009, the Department of Defense limited travel for non-essential military personnel after one U.S. Marine in California and family members of another were infected with the deadly swine flu. Suicide Prevention Training
An increase in suicide rates among U.S. Marines prompted marine officials to require a two-hour suicide prevention presentation beginning in March of 2009.
