U.K. Digital Switchover: The U.K. has begun the process of switching off its analogue television transmissions, in order to switch to digital. The switchover officially begins on October 17, 2007 and serves as the culmination of a project 8 years in development. The switch will start in the town of Whitehaven, with a country-wide conversion scheduled for 2012. The switch will supply more channels, improved picture, and additional features.
