Early Life
Tyronn Jamar Lue was born in Mexico, Missouri, on May 3, 1977. He attended high school at Raytown in Kansas City, then continued his education at the University of Nebraska. In 1998, Lue was selected by the Denver Nuggets with the 23rd pick in the NBA draft.Basketball-Reference.com: Tyronn Lue
Pro Career
After the draft, Lue was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers with Tony Battie for Nick Van Exel. In 2001, Lue was a key member of the Lakers squad that won the NBA finals. Before the 2001-2002 season, Lue capitalized on his successful playoff campaign by signing as a coveted free agent with the Washington Wizards. In 2003, Lue signed as a free agent with the Orlando Magic. The following season, he was traded to the Houston Rockets with Tracy McGrady and Juwan Howard for Steve Francis, Cuttino Mobley and Kelvin Cato. He was traded again to the Atlanta Hawks in 2005.
