Ukrainian politician Yulia Tymoshenko became Prime Minister after parliamentary elections were held on September 30, 2007. This will be a non-consecutive second term for Tymoshenko. She previously served as Prime Minister in 2005.

Previous Term
Tymoshenko was previously appointed the acting Prime Minster by President Victor Yushchenko on January 24, 2005. She had previously been a leader in the Orange Revolution, which was a series of protests and a nation-wide political movement. It was spurred by massive corruption and election fraud during the 2004 presidential election.Necessary Election
The election determined representatives for all 450 seats after the previous government was dissolved by President Victor Yushchenko in April of 2007.
