Twitter Trends

Twitter Trends refer to the popular topics of discussion on the Twitter social networking application. Marketers, journalists, research analysts, bloggers, entrepreneurs, and technology innovators and developers can track and monitor Twitter Trends and what's being discussed on Twitter and in particular Twitter Lists to know what topics are important, and what interests are generating the most amount of "buzz". While some of the Twitter Trends are created merely for fun and contain no real practical value, it can be entertaining to watch what some people have to say about a particular topic and also find other people with similar interests to add to your follow lists. When popular news topics are emerging, it can also be beneficial to check Twitter Trends to see what others are saying about the events.

Want to know what people on Twitter are talking about? If you are a Twitter user, the first place to start is on your home page. At the bottom left corner, there is a box that shows the top Twitter Trends for that day. The majority of Twitter Trends are designated by a hashtag, which looks something like this: #mahalo, if you were talking about Mahalo for instance.
