On February 12, 2009, over 175 cities worldwide will be hosting Twestivals. The Twestivals are special events at which Twitter users can gather, meet and socialize while raising money for charity. All the funds raised through the volunteer-organized events and sales will be donated to charity:water.Official Site: Twestival.com
Charity Fund Raising
Online donations for Twestival are being collected by social payment website tipjoy, or can be made directly at the charity:water website. Funds will also be raised through an online ebay auction and sales of Twestival T-Shirts. Several musicians have donated songs to the Twestival.fm site, where users can listen to live music or download the tracks.
