TweetNews is an online service that combines the Yahoo BOSS project and Twitter to determine ranking for news articles and search results. The service uses the search results shared from [[Yahoo!]] and determines relevance for the results based on the Twitter frequency of the news and articles. Initial results look promising, giving precedence to breaking news articles and up-to-the-minute updates from reputable sources instead of just based on the timing of the article itself.CNET News: Yahoo BOSS + Twitter + Google App Engine = fresh news (January 16, 2009)
Background
According to Singh, he created the service initially to show off a BOSS developer example using code libraries that he had previously released. Shortly after launch the application hit Google's limits, which were courteously extended - at least temporarily.Zooie's Blog: Twitter + BOSS = Real Time Search (January 15, 2009)Quotes
