Tupac Shakur, also known as 2Pac, was a rapper and actor. He is often associated with the West Coast Rap scene of the 90s. As an actor, he starred in the films Juice, Above the Rim, Gridlock'd and Poetic Justice with Janet Jackson. On September 7, 1996, Shakur was a victim of a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he was shot four times. He died six days later.
On April 29, 2009, the online gossip magazine, TMZ, claimed to have obtained a photo of Tupac 13 years after his death, the photos revived the rumor that Tupac was alive and drinking at a bar on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. TMZ: Tupac Is Alive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (April 29, 2009)
New Album

VIBE Magazine has reported a new 2Pac album will be released on March 20, 2009. The album, which is entitled One Nation, was recorded before his death in 1996 and features appearances by Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, Big Daddy Kane, Notorious B.I.G.. Life and Career

Tupac Shakur was born in Harlem, New York. His mother was a member of the Black Panther Party. A number of the people in Shakur's family and immediate surroundings had struggled with the law in some form or another; his godfather was convicted of murder, and his stepfather was once an FBI most wanted fugitive.
Shakur found a passion for performance at a young age and attended Baltimore School for the Arts when his family moved to Maryland. He began his career as a rapper in the 90s and began to stir up controversy because of his explicit lyrics that often invoked violent images. Eventually, Shakur became involved in a few legal battles and spent time in prison for being convicted of sexual assault.
On September 7, 1996, Shakur was shot four times while in Las Vegas while riding in a car with Suge Knight. He died on September 13, 1996. Las Vegas police never found Shakur's killer and the case remains unsolved.
