Truman Capote was an American short story author, novelist and playwright, whose works are now considered to be classics. Capote had a unique presence with his short frame, loud high pitched voice and unconventional style of dress. Towards the end of his life Capote battled drug problems and spent time in and out of rehab. There were also many incidents influenced by drugs including an on air drunken rant and a hallucinatory seizure. Capote died August 25, 1984 from liver disease.
