Troy Murphy is a Power Forward for the Indiana Pacers.
Early Life
Troy Brandon Murphy was born in Morristown, New Jersey on May 2, 1980. He attended Delbarton School in New Jersey. He would lead the state in scoring with an average of 33 points per game. After graduating from high school he attended college at the University of Notre Dame. At Notre Dame he would lead the Fighting Irish in scoring and rebounding for his entire stay at the college. He was named the Big East Conference Player of the Year with Troy Bell in 2001.
Pro Career
Murphy was selected 14th in the 2001 National Basketball Association Draft by the Golden State Warriors. He would establish himself as a key role player and spot starter for the Warriors. He played in the Rookie Challenge representing the Sophomore club during All-Star Weekend. In 2007, Murphy was traded to the Indiana Pacers with Mike Dunleavy,Ike Diogu and Keith McLeod for Al Harrington]], Josh Powell, Saruans Jasikevicius and Stephen Jackson.
