Trouble the Water is a documentary film by Tia Lessin and Carl Deal that shows a couple struggling to survive after Hurricane Katrina. The film received a nomination for an Academy Award in 2009 for Best Documentary Feature, but the Oscar was awarded to Man on Wire.
Background
Aspiring rap artist Kimberly Rivers Roberts and her husband Scott document life during and after Hurricane Katrina. The film chronicles their life over 2 years after the storm along, showing viewers their anger, fear and disappointment in how the storm was handled.
