  • Tricky is a British producer, singer and musician who played an influential role in the burgeoning trip-hop movement of the 90s. He appeared on the first two albums produced by Massive Attack and, in his solo efforts, he has collaborated with artists as diverse as Bjork, Nelly Furtado, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tool and PJ Harvey. Tricky maintains his own record label called Brown Punk.

Tricky's breakthrough album Maxinquaye was released in 1995. Featuring then-girlfriend Martina Topley-Bird on vocals, the album was a tremendous critical and commercial success. Maxinquaye was nominated for the Mercury Prize , was voted Album of the Year by NME magazine and is listed as the 36th Greatest British Albums Ever by Q Magazine. Tricky has released several albums since that time, but none have matched the chart-topping success of Maxinquaye.
