Trent Reznor founded the alternative rock band Nine Inch Nails in 1988. Reznor is a producer and has been credited with producing many of Marilyn Manson's albums. He also plays a variety of instruments including the Piano, Guitar, and Saxophone.

Trent Reznor and Mariqueen Maandig were married in a private ceremony on October 17, 2009.
In 2011, Reznor was nominated alongside Atticus Ross for a Golden Globe award for his score of the film The Social Network. Despite not appearing at the Grammys when he was nominated in the past, Reznor said he and Ross attended the Golden Globes to support the film. Reznor's Projects
Reznor produced three of Marilyn Manson's full length albums. The former friends had a falling out and have not been on speaking terms for many years.
He also produced the soundtracks of the films Natural Born Killers and Lost Highway. The video game Quake uses the music of both Trent Reznor and Nine Inch Nails. The 2004 movie Man on Fire credits Reznor as the "Musical Consultant."

Reznor announced on December 16, 2008, the keyboardist Alessandro Cortini was leaving the band. In 2009, Trent Reznor decided to discontinue Nine Inch Nails after two decades. Fans speculated that he would change his mind. Instead, Reznor changed gears. He formed a new band called How to Destroy Angels with his wife Mariqueen Maandig and long-time friend, English musician/composer Atticus Rose.
