  • NHL Career

    Hunter was drafted 150th overall in the 1998 NHL draft by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. He continued to play with his junior team, the Prince George Cougars of the Western Hockey League, for two seasons after the draft before he was traded to the New York Islanders on May 23, 2000. Hunter made his NHL debut with the Islanders in 2001 and split his first two seasons between the Islanders and their American Hockey League affiliate, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. During the 2004-05 NHL lockout, Hunter played in Sweden for the IK Nykopings Hockey. He returned to the Islanders after the lockout and played his 300th career NHL game in 2008.
