  • Wisconsin-based biking company Trek unveiled two models of chainless bicycles for the 2008 winter holiday season. Trek is one of the first biking companies to introduce chainless biking into mass production. Trek replaces the traditional chain with a "low-maintenance" belt mechanism.

The single-speed model, called the "District", will retail at $930. The eight-speed "Soho" model is planned to retail for $990.
