The condition left him paralyzed from the chest down.Sport Fishing: Rare disorder leaves Tred Barta paralyzed (May 19, 2009) According to the National Institute of Health, a spinal stroke or "spinal cord infarction" is a stroke "either within the spinal cord or the arteries that supply it."
