In 1993, Morrison began to perform with The Dismemberment Plan, with whom he'd play for the next ten years. The band went on tour in Europe and the United States in 2000 and 2001. When the band dissolved in 2003, Morrison moved to Seattle and recorded a few solo albums. During 2004 he went on tour with the Travis Morrison Hellfighters.
