LaBoy attended Marin Catholic High School where he lettered twice in football and basketball and three times in track. He was named All-State, All-League and All-Conference first-team choice as a senior.

He spent his collegiate years at University of Hawaii at Manoa where he earned first-team All-Western Athletic Conference honors, named Defensive Player of the Year, and was recipient of team's Alex Waterhouse Most Valuable Player Award.Official Team Site: Travis LaBoy Bio

He was selected in the second round pick (42nd overall) in the 2004 NFL draft, which was acquired by Tennessee Titans from the New York Jets in exchange for wide receiver Justin McCareins.
