On September 29, 2008, shorty after performing at a show in South Carolina, both Barker and DJ AM were in a plane that crashed off the runway as it attempted to take off. Holly Scoop reported on March 5, 2009, that Barker and his ex-wife Shanna Moakler were getting remarried. The couple's divorce was finalized in early 2008. Plane Crash
On September 19, 2008, Barker was injured in a plane crash. Both he and DJ AM were on board a jet that crashed in South Carolina after a performance. The crash left four people dead. Lawsuit
Barker filed a lawsuit against Bombardier Inc., Clay Lacy Aviation and Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in November 2008 claiming that the September Learjet plane crash was a result of defective parts. The suit was filed in L.A. County Superior Court. Thelma Martin Still, mother of crash victim Charles Still, also filed suit alleging that the pilots "negligently decided to abort" take-off when the tires failed on the Learjet.
