Trauma Center Under the Knife 2 is a surgery simulation game developed and published by Atlus for the Nintendo DS system. The game is the sequel to 2005's Trauma Center Under the Knife, featuring music composed by Japanese composer Manabu Namiki.
Story
The story of Trauma Center Under the Knife 2 begins soon after the first game ends. In the year 2021, three years after eradicating the man-made GUILT virus, Dr. Derek Stiles and his nurse Angie Thompson travel to a developing nation in Africa to lend a hand. The country is in desperate need of medical personnel, as a disease from the past that was thought to be exterminated again rears its ugly head. He is joined by a young, ambitious African doctor named Adel Tulba.
Gameplay
Similar to the first game, Trauma Center Under the Knife 2 is a simulation game where you perform many different types of surgery on a variety of patients. In the game you have a mixed bag of different surgical tools at your disposal. All of the tolls are used in much the same way they are used in real life, such as forceps, a scalpel, and a syringe. Also in your arsenal is the mystical power of the "Healing Touch," which uses the powers of Asclepius, the Greek God of medicine, to focus your surgical prowess, effectively slowing down time. The difficulty ramps up quickly as surgical problems require concentration and fast movement of the stylus to solve.
