Paramount Pictures purchased a Super Bowl XLIII ad for the film Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen that aired February 1, 2009. Never before seen footage from the film made its first debut in the commercial. The action film was one of a trio of Paramount projects set for a 2009 release date; the studio also aired Super Bowl ads for Star Trek and G.I. Joe.

The Film
The sequel to Transformers is set for release on June 26, 2009. Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox will both reprise their original roles of Sam and Mikaela. The Decepticons, evil robots against the Autobots, commence their hunt for Sam after he finds the history and secrets of the Transformers. Suddenly a new threat, known as The Fallen, is imminent and adds to the war between good and evil. Optimus Prime and the Autobots join forces with the US military to settle the battle alongside Sam and Mikaela. -
