Transformers reviews have been mixed since its release in Summer 2007. The worst reviews mention the film's lack of coherence and poor character development. The best claim the film accomplished its goal: a mindless, fun summer movie that facilitated its product placement objectives.

Transformers received mixed reviews from critics upon it's release. The film scored a 57% on Rotten Tomatoes and an overall rating of 61 on Metacritic.

The box office gross was $319,246,193 in the U.S. and $388,429,551 abroad. The worldwide total was $707,675,744. The films budget was $150 million.

Academy Award nominated for Best Sound Editing, Sound Mixing, and Visual Effects.
