Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, or Transformers 2, is the sequel to the 2007 summer blockbuster Transformers, the Michael Bay-directed live-action version of the 1980's cartoon series. A comic book series The Reign of Starscream, which is also a sequel to the movie, is set to be released by IDW Publishing.

Plot Summary
Sam (LaBeouf) and Mikaela (Fox) return in the second installment of Transformers. The origins of the Transformers, as well as their history, has been acquired by Sam who now finds himself under attack by the Decepticons as well as a new threat, a robot only known as The Fallen. Sam's knowlege is valuable and the good side, the Autobots led by Optimus Prime, want their secrets to remain as they are. Soon the Autobots join with the human force of the US military to fight off the villanous robots' attacks. -
Script Rewrites
A third writer, Ehren Kruger, was brought on to work on the script before the Writers Guild Strike began. An outline of the film was written by Michael Bay and turned in the day before the strike began. Rewriting of the film will continue up until the filming begins. -
Second Trailer Released
The second teaser for the film appeared online in February 2009. It opened with fireballs ripping across the sky. They hit cities on land and ships at sea. The promo revealed the fireballs were really Transformers. As they hit the ground they transform into machines and create chaos. Shia LaBeof's character appears on screen and tells a man to run for his life. He later discovers a Transformer the size of an insect. More machines are introduced. Some look like animals, while others look like dinosaurs. LaBeof's character and his friends run from the machines. -
