The English psychedelic rock band Traffic featured a still very young Steve Winwood (fresh from his massive success with the Spencer Davis Group) on vocals and keyboards and also included Chris Wood on reed instruments, Dave Mason on guitar, and Jim Capaldi on drums.

Legacy
The John Barleycorn Must Die album (which was originally going to be a Winwood solo release) hit No. 5 on the United States charts, but otherwise Traffic wasn't quite as successful in sheer numbers as Winwood's previous tenure in the Spencer Davis Group. But classic tunes like "Dear Mr. Fantasy," "Paper Sun" and "Empty Pages" still made the band a lock for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which inducted the band in 2004. -
