  • The Shooting

According to the "Dallas Morning News", Mr Roberson had been gambling in Dallas the evening of December 11 and was unable to reach his wife after calling home 19 times. Hearing from his daughter that his wife was outside, he returned home and found Roberson and LaSalle together.

Testimony showed that Roberson feared her husband would kill her, and falsely accused her lover of rape. Upon hearing her claim of rape, Mr. Roberson shot four 10 mm bullets from a Smith & Wesson, one of which hit LaSalle's jaw and spine, killing him.
