Tracy Chapman

Tracy Chapman is a Grammy Award-winning Singer-Songwriter whose fiercely personal Folk songs helped make her a sensation in the late 1980s and early 90s, with the help of hits such as "Fast Car", "Talkin' 'bout a Revolution" and "Give Me One Reason".

Career

After getting her start playing coffee houses in the Cambridge area of Massachusetts, Chapman released her self-titled debut album in 1988 to widespread critical acclaim. The album won Chapman three Grammy Awards and established her as a vital force on the music scene. Chapman released two moderately successful albums before returning in 1995 with her comeback New Beginning. The album was a return to form and won her another Grammy for the song "Give Me One Reason". Chapman continues to record and perform.
