  On April 5, 2009, Adkins won the "Single of the Year" for "Your Gonna Miss This" at the Country Music Awards of 2009.

• Celebrity Apprentice

  In 2008, Adkins appeared on Donald Trump's first season of Celebrity Apprentice. Each week the celebrities performed tasks that included anything from selling hot dogs to creating a new sandwich for Quiznos. The project manager of the winning team donated all the money won in the challeges to their favorite charity. Adkins made it to the final two but was "fired" on the season finale. He raised $102,000 for the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network. Adkins choose this charity because his own daughter suffers from life threatening allergies to certain foods. This was his way of bringing awareness to the disease.
